See Orca3D at the SNAME Annual Meeting in Houston

Orca3D will be on display at the SNAME Annual Meeting & Expo in Houston, November 16-18. DRS Defense Solutions, Advanced Marine Technology Center, will be in booth #316. Stop by and meet some of our naval architect/programmers, and see both Orca3D and our structural analysis software MAESTRO. This is a great opportunity to see the software in action, ask questions, and make suggestions for new features. Go to www.sname.org for details. Hope to see you there!

Foreshortening Views for Fairing

When fairing a hull, it's sometimes helpful to foreshorten the longitudinal scale, to "compress" the model and exaggerate the curvature. This is especially true for vessels with high length-to-beam or length-to-depth ratios.

Rhino 4 has a feature to make this easy, and it's well described on the McNeel Wiki site. Click here to read the instructions.
